Beach Boxing Showdown: Xenia VS Vanessa - Part 2

Duncan: OK Xenia, just dodge and jab for now. Your opponent maybe an amateur, but I heard she’s tough. *Gives Xenia her mouth guard* So don’t underestimate her.
Xenia: Okkie dokkie.
Linda: Good luck, Xenia.
Dagny: Show her what you’ve got.
*Xenia’s corner team leave the ring as she looks at Vanessa, with a smile of determination*

Melanie: Remember only jab when her guard is down and block whatever blows she throws at you. *Give Vanessa her mouth guard* You don’t want to you to run out of steam here.
Vanessa: Right!
Karen: Good luck, Vanessa.
Eva: Give her Hell, Vanessa.
*Vanessa’s corner team leave the ring as she looks at Xenia, with a smile of determination*

Both fighters razed their right arms, signalling to the bell ringer that their ready to fight. The bell rings, signalling round 1. Both fighters moved forward, touch gloves once more and they begin circling around the ring. Vanessa throws 2 right jabs to the face, but Xenia blocks them. Xenia throws a left jab, but Vanessa dodged it. Vanessa finally lays the first blow with a left & right jab combo to the face. But Xenia just smiled as it didn’t faze her. Vanessa then threw a left jab, but Xenia bobs it and counters with a left & right jab combo to Vanessa’s face. They circle around the ring, exchanging jabs to the face to one another. Xenia then tries to lay a left cross to Vanessa’s face. But Vanessa bobs it and counters with a left hook to the body. Xenia retaliates with a left & right cross combo to Vanessa’s face. The 2 continue to exchange jabs, some being blocked, until the bell rang. The 2 fighters smiled at each other with satisfaction before they head back to their corners.

Aysun: Well that was boring. I’ve seen far more exciting first rounds than this one.
Itzel: What do you expect from charity fights? Champion level ones?
Aysun: Well, yeah!
*Itzel growls quietly in annoyance*

Duncan: Linda, pass me a soaked sponge.
Linda: OK uncle.
*Duncan wipes Xenia’s face with the soaked sponge*
Duncan: I think you did alright in this round. Try to tire her out by dodging, then strike when you have an opening.
Xenia: You got it, Duncan.

Melanie: Karen! Soaked sponge, now!
Karen: Yes Coach Melanie.
*Melanie wipes Vanessa’s face with the soaked sponge*
Melanie: For now, just continue to jab whenever you get an opening and block whatever punches she throws at you.
Vanessa: OK then.

Both corner teams leave the ring and both fighters signal that they are ready. Bell rings for round 2 and both fighters commence fighting once more. Xenia lays a left & right jab combo to Vanessa’s face. They circle around the ring as Vanessa lays a right jab to Xenia’s left rib. Xenia tries to lay a left jab to Vanessa’s face. But Vanessa bobs it and counters with a right jab and a left cross to Xenia’s face. Which sends Xenia to a corner. Vanessa then delivers hooks to the body, with Xenia blocking with all her might.

Melanie: THAT’S IT! KEEP AT IT!
Duncan: XENIA! USE YOUR PEEKABOO TRICK!

Xenia raised her arms slightly to cover her face as Vanessa continues laying hooks to her body.

Xenia: *Unblocks her guarded face* Peekaboo!
*Vanessa prepares to launch a hard right jab to Xenia’s face*
Melanie: VANESSA, WAIT!!

But it’s too late. Vanessa fell for her trick. As Xenia dodges the blow and lays 3 rights hooks to the stomach. Sending Vanessa back to the center of the ring. Followed by a left & right cross combo to the face and a left uppercut to the chin. Knocking Vanessa on her back of the canvas. Scoring the first knockdown for Xenia, with the crowd and Xenia’s corner team cheering. The referee asks Xenia to go to a corner, as the ref starts counting.

Referee: 1, 2...
Melanie: GET UP, VANESSA!!
Referee: 3...
Karen & Eva: DON’T GIVE UP!!
*Vanessa sits up*
Referee: 4, 5...
Aysun: GET UP, YOU USELESS AMATEUR! I HAVE MONEY ON YOU!!
Referee: 6...
*Vanessa gets up*
Referee: 7, 8... Are you alright?
Vanessa: Yeah, I’m fine ref.
Referee: Alright then, put your hands up. Box on!

Xenia gleefully walks forward as she blocks Vanessa’s crosses and lands a left & right jab combo to Vanessa’s face. They then circle around the ring. Vanessa retaliates with a right & left jab combo of her own to Xenia’s face. The bell rings, signalling the end of the round. Both fighters head back to their corners.

Duncan: Good round, Xenia. Good round.
Linda: Way a go, Xenia.
Dagny Not too shabby.
Xenia: Not too shabby at all.
*Duncan wipes Xenia’s face with a soaked sponge*
Duncan: Alright Xenia, listen up. Keep the pressure on your opponent with hooks to the body. The more hooks you lay on her, the more likely of chances of you knocking the wind out of her.
Xenia: OK then.

Melanie: Eva! Get the stool!
Eva: Yes ma’am.
*Eva brings a stool into the ring & Vanessa sits on it*
Vanessa: *sigh* I can’t believe I fell for that trick.
Melanie: Don’t beat yourself up, Vanessa. If it’ll make you feel better I fell for that trick a few times in my boxing career as well.
*Melanie wipes Vanessa’s face with a soaked sponge*
Melanie: Alright listen up. Judging from what I’ve seen so far, she appears to be left handed. She’ll probably try to use another left & right cross combo on you, sooner or later. When she does, block it with your right, lay at least 3 left hooks to her stomach and then uppercut with your right. That’ll wipe that smile off her face.
Vanessa: Got it.

Both corner teams leave the ring and both fighters signal that they are ready for the next round. Bell rings for round 3 and both fighters move forward towards the center of the ring. Xenia starts the round off with a right hook to Vanessa’s left rib. But Vanessa retaliates with a right & left cross combo to Xenia’s breasts. The 2 circle around the ring, as they deliver and block jabs to one another. Xenia tried to lay a left cross to Vanessa’s face. But Vanessa blocks it and counters with 3 left hooks to Xenia’s stomach, followed by a right uppercut to her chin. Xenia bounces off the ropes and lands on her bottom. Scoring a knockdown for Vanessa. The crowd cheered, Aysun in particular did as well.

Aysun: YES!! IN YOUR FACE, YOU TURK GREEK FREAK HYBRID!! IN YOUR FACE!! WOO HOO! Get ready to pay up, Battle Wolf. This match is like sooooooo over.

The referee tells Vanessa to go to a corner and begins counting. Xenia was stunned at the fact that an amateur was able to knock her down.

Referee: 1, 2...
Duncan: GET UP, XENIA!! GET UP!!
Referee: 3...
Linda: COME ON, GET UP XENIA!!
Referee: 4...
Dagny: MOVE IT OR LOSE IT XENIA!!
Referee: 5...
Tapani, Huberta & Rehor: GO XENIA!!
Referee: 6...
Bahtiyar: *gets off his seat* YOU CAN DO IT XENIA! I BELIEVE IN YOU!!
*Xenia gets up*
Referee: 7...
Itzel: I think I’ll hold on to my wallet just a little longer.
*Aysun growls in anger at the site of her rival standing up*
Referee: 8, 9... You alright?
Xenia: Yep, I’m good. Bit surprised, but good.
Referee: Alright then, put your hands up. Box on!

Xenia dashes towards Vanessa and tries to lay a right & left cross combo at Vanessa’s face. But Vanessa bobs them and counters with a left hook to Xenia’s ribs. Vanessa then tries to lay a right cross. But Xenia blocks it and lays a right cross of her own onto Vanessa’s jaw. The bell rings, ending round 3. Both fighters have an angry stare down before heading back to their corners.

Duncan: Dagny! Get the stool.
Dagny: You got it, Duncan.
*Dagny brings a stool into the ring & Xenia sits on it*
Xenia: I can’t believe that rookie was able to knock me down.
Duncan: And I told you that you shouldn’t have underestimate her!
*Duncan wipes Xenia’s face with a soaked sponge*
Duncan: Now concentrate on giving her hooks to the gut. I want you to finish her off, so we can call it a day and head home.
Xenia: Oh don’t worry, Duncan. This time the kid gloves are off.
Dagny: Oh boy. Now she’s ticked.

*Eva brings a stool into the ring & Vanessa sits on it*
Karen: Well done, Vanessa! That round was all yours!
Eva: Yeah, that’s for sure.
*Melanie wipes Vanessa’s face with a soaked sponge*
Melanie: Good work Vanessa. Keep this up and should be able to win this by points decision. Time to end it.
Vanessa: Right.
Both fighters stood up from their stools with determined looks on their face, as their corner teams leave the ring. They signal the bell ringer that they are ready. The bell rings for round 4 and both fighters circle around the ring.

Xenia: For the record, I’ve been going easy on you until you knocked me down. This time the kid gloves are off.
Vanessa: I had a feeling you were holding back Xenia. So show me what you really got. I can take whatever you throw at me.
Xenia: Alright Vanessa. But just remember, you asked for it.

Xenia starts the match off with a left cross to Vanessa’s face and Vanessa retaliates with a right cross to Xenia’s face. Xenia then lays 2 left & right jabs to Vanessa’s face, followed by a left hook to the stomach. Vanessa tries to lay a right jab. But Xenia dodges it and counters with a right jab to Vanessa’s nose & a left hook to her stomach. Vanessa tries to lay a right cross. But Xenia blocks it and tried to counter with a right hook. Only to end up getting clinched together.

Referee: Alright break it up! BREAK IT UP! *both boxers let go* Alright resume.

Vanessa tries to lay a right & left cross combo to Xenia’s face. But Xenia bobs them and lays a left hook to Vanessa’s stomach, followed by a 2 right & left cross combo to the face. Those barrages of crosses sent Vanessa across the ring and against the ropes. Xenia then laid thunderous hooks to the stomach as Vanessa blocks with all her might. Xenia then threw 2 right crosses and a left cross to Vanessa’s jaw. Scoring another knockdown for Xenia.

The referee tells Xenia to go to a corner and starts counting. Aysun was starting to worry. “If that amateur can’t win this fight, then I’ll have to help her win it for her. Time to cheat!” Aysun thought to herself. Vanessa was able to get up before the 10 count and says she’s fine. Aysun then uses her watch to reflect the sunlight onto one of Xenia’s eyes. It worked as Xenia was temporary blind. Giving Vanessa a change to lay a right & left cross combo to Xenia’s face and a right & left hook to the stomach. The bell rings signalling the end of the round and both fighters head to their corners. Aysun gave an evil smile of satisfaction. For she has a plan that’ll help Vanessa win the fight.

*Linda brings a stool into the ring & Xenia sits on it*
Xenia: Something blinded me!
Linda: It might have been someone’s makeup mirror reflecting on sunlight. Hope it wasn’t intentional.
Duncan: I hope it wasn’t intentional either. Especially since we are at the final round.
*Duncan wipes Xenia’s face with a soaked sponge*
Duncan: Alright Xenia, listen up. So far you’ve scored 2 knockdowns and your opponent has only scored one. You’ll need to either score another knockdown or keep whaling on her with jabs to the face to score more points.
Dagny: You’ve made it this far. Time for you to go all the way.
Linda: You can do it Xenia! We know you can!
Duncan: No matter what happens now, we are proud of you Xenia. And so should your father.
Xenia: *smiles* Thanks guys.

*Eva brings a stool into the ring & Vanessa sits on it*
Vanessa: OUCH!! My stomach! I don’t think I’ll ever eat again after this!
Melanie: Suck it up, Vanessa! You still have one more round to go.
*Melanie wipes Vanessa’s face with a soaked sponge*
Karen: Your running low on points, Vanessa! You’ll need to score a knockout to win this fight!
Eva: Yeah, no more fooling around!
Melanie: You heard them. It’s either now or never. Protect your stomach from those hooks. But most all, give it all you’ve got! Go get her!
*Vanessa smiles and nods*

Both boxers stood up from their stools and their corner teams leave the ring. They signal the bell ringer that they are ready to fight one last time. The bell rings for the final round as both boxers head to the center of the ring and touched gloves.

Vanessa: Ready for one more encore?
Xenia: I was born for encore performances.

They circle around the ring. Exchanging and blocking jabs to their faces. Among the crowd, Aysun was ready to use her watch to blind Xenia once again. Suddenly Itzel grabbed Aysun’s left forearm with her right hand and squeezed it tight. Aysun in pain looked at a cross Itzel.
Itzel: What the Hell do you think you’re doing?
Aysun: Um... *nervous laugh* Checking the time on my watch.
Itzel: “Checking the time” MY ASS! You think I’m stupid? I saw what you did at the end of the previous round! No way am I letting you do this stunt twice!

Itzel squeezes Aysun’s forearm even tighter, as she uses her left hand to take off the wrist watch. Itzel then let’s go of Aysun’s forearm. Much to Aysun’s sighs of relief. Itzel then held Aysun’s watch in her left hand.

Aysun: HEY! Give me back my watch! My daddy got it for my birthday. It’s worth a fortune.
*Itzel then crushes the watch with her bare hands and drops the pieces to the ground*
Itzel: And now it’s worthless, just like you.
Aysun: My waaaaatcchh. *sobs*

Back in the ring, Vanessa tries to lay 3 right jabs to Xenia’s face. But Xenia blocked them and counters with a right cross to Vanessa’s left breast. Xenia tries to lay a left cross to Vanessa’s face. But Vanessa bobs it and counters with a left cross of her own. Xenia then tries a right hook to the body. But Vanessa blocks it and tried to counter with a right hook of her own. Only to get themselves clinched together.

Referee: Come on, let go! LET GO!! *both boxers let go* Resume!

Vanessa tries to lay a right jab. But Xenia blocks it and counter with left & right cross combo to Vanessa’s face. They circle around the ring with 15 seconds remaining. Xenia lays a left hook to Vanessa’s body as Vanessa retaliates with a right cross to Xenia’s face. Xenia then lays a left cross on Vanessa’s right breast and Vanessa repaid the favour with a right cross to Xenia’s left breast. The bell rings. Signalling that the match is over. Both fighters cuddled each other on a job well done.

Xenia: Great fight, Vanessa.
Vanessa: Great fight, Xenia.

Both fighters head back to their corners, as they await the results. The crowd were cheering for a great match. All except Aysun who is still crying over her destroyed watch.
Itzel: You know, out all the matches I’ve seen today, this one was the best of the bunch. I gotta give Vanessa credit for lasting this long. I guess her training with the other professionals is starting to pay off.

At Xenia’s corner...
Linda: Well done Xenia! You were great!
Duncan: I think it’s safe to say you’ve got this one in the bag. *Takes mouth guard out of Xenia’s mouth* You did rather well.
Dagny: What the others said.
Xenia: Thanks guys. Although I must be honest. *Takes her gloves off* She did give me a run for my money.

At Vanessa’s corner...
Vanessa: I’m sorry everyone. I’ve let you all down.
Melanie: Don’t beat yourself up Vanessa. *Takes mouth guard out of Vanessa’s mouth* Even if you have lost this fight, you’ll still gain experience from it and learn from those mistakes for next time.
Karen: Besides Vanessa, your training with the other professionals is starting to payoff.
Eva: And you’re proven to them that your no pushover.
Melanie: Whatever the outcome, everyone in the crowd are going to go home satisfied that they saw this match. You’re starting to develop quite a fanbase around here.
Vanessa: Thank you everyone. *Takes her gloves off* Whatever the outcome, I’ll lift my head on high and say to myself “I think I did alright”.

Susan Reedman enters the ring, with the score cards in hand. She asked the referee to have both boxers join them in the center of the ring. The bell ringer rang the bell to get the crowd’s attention. It was time for the results.

Susan: Ladies and gentlemen, after 5 rounds of boxing. The winner by unanimous decision... Delta Diva, Xenia Yildizfield!

The referee razed Xenia’s left arm as the victor of the match. Her corner team cheered as did their parents. Vanessa sighs in disappointment that she lost. Then Xenia walked up to her and offered a friendly handshake, out of good sportsmanship.

Xenia: Wanna be friends?
*Vanessa cheers up a bit*
Vanessa: You bet I do.
*The two shook hands*

Susan: And what a wonderful display of sportsmanship. Please also give a round of applause to Vanessa Castillo for this awesome fight and her trainer Melanie for making this event possible.
*the crowd applaud both the Castillo’s, as they wave back to the crowd*
Susan: This concludes our boxing portion of the event. Come back at 7:30pm for our guest band performing later tonight. Thank you ever so much, I’ll see you all this evening!

The crowd slowly begin to leave. Xenia exits the ring and sees her father walking towards her. He gave her a hug.

Bahtiyar: I’m very proud of you Xenia. While I may not like seeing you get hurt, I do like you to succeed in life and I’ll always respect your decisions. As long as you’re happy, I’ll be happy too.
Xenia: Thanks dad. I love you.
Bahtiyar: And I love you too.
*They hug again*

Karen & Eva help Vanessa down the ring. As they head back to their changing tent.
Melanie: You go and check yourself out at the doctors. I’m gonna have a quick friendly talk with the opposing trainer. I want you out and ready in 25 minutes sharp.
Vanessa, Karen & Eva: Yes Coach Melanie!
*Melanie walks up to Duncan*
Melanie: That’s one Hell of a fighter you’ve got here.
Duncan: Thanks and your daughter was quite impressive. You must be rather proud with her.
Melanie: Impressed? Yes. Proud? She’ll need to face 3 other boxers before she earns that. But that’s a different story entirely. Are you doing anything this evening?
Duncan: We’ll be heading back to the hotel to celebrate. Why you ask?
Melanie: I was wondering if I could talk to you and Hector Renza about something.
Duncan: I’ll give’em a ring in a moment. If you want, your daughter and students are more than welcome to come.
Melanie: ... Ah what the Hell? I guess it wouldn’t hurt to have those 2 get to know one another. I’ll see you and Hector later on.
Duncan: See you later on...
*Duncan & Melanie then shook hands*

At the other side of the crowd, on the upper benches...
Aysun: NNOOOOOOOO!! I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!! That useless amateur lost! I knew I shouldn’t have rooted for such a weakling like her! *Looks at Itzel* Also this is all your fault!! You destroyed my watch!
Itzel: Serves you right for trying to cheat!
Aysun: Oh, come on! You’d do the same! Wouldn’t you!?
Itzel: NO I WOULDN’T!! I would use my skills alone to win fights! Not resort to dirty tricks like this! You’re lucky that I’m not going to report you for outside interference. As far as I’m concerned, you’re the REAL weakling around here. You are nothing more than a spoilt brat!
Aysun: You know what? SCREW IT!! *stands up* Screw this place! Screw these fighters! And screw you! I’m outta here!
*Aysun begins to leave*
Itzel: Hey empress! *Aysun looks back at Itzel* Aren’t you forgetting something?

Itzel holds out her hand, with a smug grin for good measure. She hasn’t forgotten the bet. Aysun still fuming gets her purse and shoves 30 bucks on top of Itzel’s hand.

Aysun: Hope you choke on your winnings. You have made an enemy today Battle Wolf and pray that you’ll never step into the ring against the Moonlight Empress. Because I will show you no mercy whatsoever.
Itzel: I wouldn’t bet on it.
*Aysun gives Itzel a middle finger to the face and storms off*
Itzel: Yeish! I thought she’d never leave. She reminds me of Alina... minus the likability factor.
